The MINI-L-W-SDT has a self-diagnostic testing (SDT) feature that automatically performs internal checks, identifies potential issues, and alerts you when maintenance is needed. This helps ensure reliable performance, minimizes unexpected failures, and maintains compliance with safety standards. Despite its compact size, it delivers powerful illumination with reliable LED lamp heads, powered by a nickel-cadmium battery backup. SDT meets NFPA 101 Life Safety Code requirements for periodic testing.
Construction
Our flame-and-corrosion-resistant ABS thermoplastic MINI-L-W-SDT features circular lighting heads each containing 8 long-lasting, bright white LEDs (16 diodes total). The unit only consumes 3.4W of electricity per cycle, and draws nearly zero power when AC is flowing through the circuit. Best of all, you will never have to replace the bulbs during the entire lifespan of the unit! The lamp heads are gyroscopically mounted and adjust to direct light where it is needed.
Battery
The MINI-L-W-SDT does not contain heavy, short-lived sealed lead acid batteries like other backup fixtures. Instead, it utilizes long-life nickel cadmium (NiCad) cells that last up to 15 years when regularly tested. The MINI-L-W-SDT has a test button at the bottom so you can easily test the readiness of the lamps and battery, as well as perform periodic battery discharge per UL 924 guidelines.
